1. Angle valve (angle stop valve, angle cock)
An angle valve is a small shut-off valve with its inlet and outlet at 90 degrees. It is fitted where the wall water pipe comes out for a toilet cistern, wash basin, sink or shattaf, so the water to that one fixture can be closed without shutting off the whole supply. Arabic: محبس زاوية. The ZARA angle valve 1/2 inch is AED 4.80 ex VAT. Where one wall point has to feed two things, for example a toilet cistern and a shattaf, the double angle valve gives two outlets for AED 9.60 ex VAT.
2. Flexible hose (SS flexible pipe, tap connector)
A flexible hose is the short, bendable water supply pipe that connects a tap, mixer, shattaf or toilet cistern to the angle valve on the wall. Arabic: خرطوم مرن. The ZARA stainless steel flexible hose has a brass nut and comes in 45 cm (AED 3.60) and 60 cm (AED 4.80) lengths. A hot-and-cold basin mixer is fed from two wall points, each with its own angle valve; check whether the mixer already comes with its own hoses before ordering flexible hoses.
3. WC connector (toilet pan connector)
A WC connector joins the outlet of the toilet pan to the soil pipe. Arabic: وصلة مرحاض. Which one you need depends on where the soil pipe is: the 90° bend WC connector (40 mm) turns the outlet through a right angle, the straight WC connector runs in line, both AED 4.20, and the WC flexible connector (110 mm) is AED 9.60. 4. Bottle trap and basin waste
A bottle trap is the bottle-shaped trap under a wash basin or sink. It keeps a small water seal in the pipe, so waste water drains away while drain smells cannot come back up into the room. Arabic: سيفون مغسلة. The ZARA PVC bottle trap is AED 5.00 (1-1/4″) or AED 5.50 (1-1/2″), and the double bottle trap AED 9.75. 5. Washing machine point
A washing machine needs a supply side and a drain side. The washing machine inlet pipe (water supply hose) brings water from the supply point to the machine, from AED 4.15 (1.5 m; also 2 m and 3 m).
