Drywall screws in Dubai and the UAE (gypsum screws, gypsum board screws, dry wall screws, plasterboard screws, sheetrock screws; Arabic: براغي جبس / مسامير جبس بورد) from ZARA Tools: coarse thread drywall screws, fine thread drywall screws and gypsum screws (Taiwan), sold by the box in #6, #8 and #10 gauge from 1/2″ to 4″ long. All sizes are stocked at the Al Zafeer Building Materials warehouse in Al Quoz, Dubai, for gypsum and fit-out contractors, carpenters and hardware shops, and can be collected or delivered across the UAE.

Drywall screw types

Coarse thread drywall screws: for gypsum board on timber. #6, #8 and #10 gauge, 1/2″ to 4″, 200 to 1,000 pcs per box, from AED 8.10 per box ex VAT (grade A).
Fine thread drywall screws: for gypsum board on metal studs. Same sizes, box quantities and prices as coarse thread.
Gypsum screws, fine thread (Taiwan): #6 × 1″, 900 pcs per box, AED 15.00 per box ex VAT.

Drywall screws FAQ

What is the difference between fine and coarse thread drywall screws? Coarse thread drywall screws are used for gypsum board on timber, and fine thread drywall screws for gypsum board on metal studs. ZARA sells both at the same price per box.

Are gypsum screws and drywall screws the same? Yes. In the UAE the same screw is called a drywall screw, gypsum screw, gypsum board screw or plasterboard screw.

What sizes of drywall screws do you stock? #6 × 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, 2″ and 2-1/2″; #8 × 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4″, 1-1/2″, 2″, 2-1/2″ and 3″; #10 × 3″ and 4″; plus the Taiwan gypsum screw in #6 × 1″.

How many drywall screws are in a box? For grade A: 1,000 pcs for the short sizes (up to 1-1/4″), 500 pcs for 1-1/2″ and 2″, 250 pcs for 2-1/2″ and #8 × 3″, and 200 pcs for #10 × 3″ and 4″. The Taiwan gypsum screw comes 900 pcs per box.

What is the drywall screw price in Dubai? From AED 8.10 per box ex VAT for grade A (#6 × 1/2″, 1,000 pcs), or from AED 6.60 per box for grade C. See the price list above.
