What is a self drilling screw? A self drilling screw (also called a Tek screw) has a drill point at the tip. It drills its own hole in metal and then forms its thread, so you do not need to pre-drill.
What is the difference between self drilling and self tapping screws? A self drilling screw makes its own hole in metal. A self tapping screw cuts its thread into a hole that is already drilled.
